On the 19th January I was honoured to once again provide the photography for the promotional pictures for the Chocs for Chance charity event. For more information please visit their website http://chocsforchance.org. Run in conjunction with the Dame Maureen Thomas Foundation for Young People the event is used to raise money to get young disadvantaged people with no prospects into the catering trade.
Galvin's Chance offers disadvantaged young people industry-led training and opportunities for a front of house career in some of the most prestigious hotels, restaurants and food service management organisations in London. The programme seeks to predominantly target those at risk of crime and offer them a real alternative.
Our proven model engages these young people to acquire the skills they need for sustainable employment and the chance to earn qualifications to build their careers, with ongoing mentoring support available.
Initiated by Chris Galvin, Chef Patron and Fred Sirieix, General Manager of Galvin at Windows in 2009, the programme targets young people aged 18-24 who are at risk from gang culture. The progamme helps those facing various barriers who are not in education or employment.
The online chocolate box auction, where famous chefs create delicious chocolate boxes which are auctioned off in support of Galvins Chance is back for 2017 and a very worthwhile cause.
Below are some pictures of some of the chefs and people from the catering that are involved.
